About Our Organization

Oceanic Awareness Society’s (OAS) mission is to educate children in marine
life and to serve as a training facility to disabled people who want to become
certified divers.

The mission shall be pursued through ocean excursions in local waters
(principally the Santa Monica Bay) and with dive training programs.

Participants of the ocean excursions are limited to
underprivileged children 4-12 grade and their adult
chaperons. These excursions are at no charge to the
participants.

Dive training programs are open to any disabled person
interested in obtaining open water certification or anyone
wanting to expand their dive skills as they relate to disabled
diving. This training is available at no cost provided
financial need is established.
